Size: 1 x 5/8 inch
Material: Sterling silver

This unique St Christopher medal features the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a small window at the top and an image of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on the back. This means that when blessed by a priest the medal can also be used as a scapular. It also has written on the back “I am Catholic. In case of accident notify a priest”.

St Christopher is still recognized as a saint in the Catholic Church; however, his feast day has been removed from the liturgical calendar. This has led some into believing that his sainthood was rescinded.

St Christopher was a third century martyr. Legend says that he was a powerfully built man who made his living by ferrying people across a river. One day he carried a small child across the stream; the child’s weight nearly crushed him. When they arrived on the other side, the child revealed himself as Christ, and he was so heavy because he bore the weight of the world on himself. He then baptized Christopher with water from the stream. Christopher’s service at the stream led to his patronage of things related to travel and travelers,

The medal was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA
