This art deco-style medal features a depiction of St Mark, writer of the Gospel of Mark, holding a pen and writing in a book.
St Mark was one of the writers of the four gospels in the New Testament of the Bible. He is frequently identified as the young man who ran away from the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus was arrested. He was a cousin Paul’s missionary companion, Barnabas, and a friend of Peter. Tradition says that he founded the church in Alexandria, Egypt, and was its first bishop.
It was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA.
