St Philip Medal – Patron Of Bakers And Pastry Chefs – Antique Reproduction

This unique medal features St Philip the apostle. It shows him holding a scroll with his hand raised in a teaching position to represent his part in building the early church in Jerusalem. This is a replica of an antique medal from France, so the spelling of Philip is in the French style, “Phillipe”.

St Philip was originally on of John the Baptist’s disciples. He later came to follow Jesus and was one of the 12 apostles. He also brought his friend Nathaniel to Christ and was a close friend of Jesus. He was martyred in martyred in the year 80 in Hierapolis (now part of Turkey) when he was tied to a cross and stoned to death.

The medal was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA.
