Description
Size: 5/8 inch
Material: Sterling silver
This beautiful medal features St Isabelle with her hands folded in prayer in front of a crucifix. The inscription is in French and translates as “St Isabelle Pray For Us”.
St Isabelle was a princess born in Aragon, Spain, in 1271. She was married to King Diniz of Portugal at the age of 12 and became Queen of Portugal at this early age. The king was not a good husband, and Isabelle suffered through years of abuse and adultery. The ladies of the court were jealous of her and made her life more difficult. When her son, Prince Alfonso, revolted against his father, King Diniz, she rode out onto the battlefield between them an arranged a peace agreement. When the king died she gave all her property to the poor and retired to a monastery. She died in 1336.
It was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA.

Was very pleased with my experience, the medal is beautiful although a little smaller than I thought, but nonetheless, the most beautiful Ive found of this precious saint. John was wonderful to work with and I would definitely do business with them again! † God Bless †
