Size: a little less than 1 inch
Material: Sterling silver

This unique medal shows St Anthony of Padua holding the Christ child in a beautiful etched open-work frame.

St Anthony of Padua was born in Portugal in 1195 to a wealthy family. He turned his back on riches to become a poor Franciscan priest. He was known during his lifetime for his amazing preaching and miracles. His association with finding lost items comes from the story that after his death, one of his treasured prayer books was lost. After many prayers the book was returned by a young novice who had “borrowed” it. He was urged to bring it back by a vision of St Anthony scolding him for taking it!

The medal was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA

St Anthony is the patron of:
finding lost items
infertility
against shipwreck
amputees
fishermen
fathers
American Indians

The medal is great and it came with a beautiful St. Anthony Card that I’m sure my mother will appreciate, and it will make an awesome gift! The Card has St. Anthony on one side holding a small child, and his history, and a prayer on the other to find lost articles.
BTW, this will be given to my mother for her 85th Birthday on 19DE19. She was separated from her mother and sister when fleeing from the Germans in World War II in Picinisco, Italy with many other citizens. She want back home and grabbed the statue of Saint Anthony, held it tight to her chest, at around 8 yrs. old, while on her journey and prayed to him to get her back to her mother and sister, and he did!!! Thank You for making such awesome medals!
