This lovely little medal features St Therese of Lisieux in her traditional pose holding a crucifix and a bouquet of roses. The inscription is in French and reads “St Therese of the Child Jesus”. The reverse of the medal shows roses raining from the sky and is surrounded with a ribbon border that reads in Latin, “I will let fall a shower of roses”.
St Therese of Lisieux was an ordinary girl with an extraordinary soul. She developed a deep and abiding faith in Jesus and trust in his will for her. She became a Carmelite nun at age 15. Therese defined her path to God and holiness as The Little Way, which consisted of child-like love and trust in God. She wrote the spiritual classic, “The Story of a Soul” to tell about her life and help others to understand her simple way of serving God. She died in 1897 at age 24 from tuberculosis.
It was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA.
