The medal was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA.
St Anselm was born in Italy in the late 11th century. After arguing with his father, he fled to Normandy, France, where he became a monk.? He became so well known in England that he was asked to become Archbishop of Canterbury in 1092. He upheld the rights of the Church against the monarchy many times and was eventually exiled twice for displeasing the king. In spite of these difficulties he greatly strengthened the Church in England after the turmoil of the Norman Conquest. He is known for his theological writings and was a great philosopher. He is a doctor of the church.
