This beautiful medal shows The Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Fatima. Around the edge is the inscription in Portuguese “Nossa Senora Do Rosario Da Fatima” (Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima). The reverse shows the three shepherd children who witnessed the apparition, Lucia, Jacinta, and Fancisco, kneeling in prayer in front of Our Lady with the inscription “Our of the Rosary of Fatima” once again.
Our Lady of Fatima is a title given to the Virgin Mary after her appearance to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. She is also referred to as Our Lady of the Rosary. The apparitions in at Fatima are famous for the secrets given to the children by the Virgin Mary and for the “miracle of the sun” in which the sun was seen to spin and dance in front of thousands of people during Mary’s last appearance. Fatima is an important Marian shrine and one of the most popular pilgrimage spots in the world today.
